[It had been a reflex earlier for Karamatsu to break through the water's surface when they heard Choromatsu. This time, though? Admittedly, he's a little scared to try again, so when he tries to follow Ichi to the surface he only makes it halfway, swallowing a large gulp of water to pass through his newly formed gills. Not to mention the fact that he's still a little smashed against the edge of the tub, so to get up there he'd really have to push against Ichi to make room.
...so yeah, he's actually taking Ichimatsu's order to heart for once, surprisingly content to just. Stay resting at the bottom of the tub with his tail uncomfortably half in, half out of the water.
