It's that time again and you know what I'm just stealing the prompts from my previous Danny open post because I can and I still like them. Open to other ideas too, throw whatever at me!

1. You were minding your own business when a couple of weird glowing flying people started duking it out nearby, including ridiculousness like shooting energy blasts and flying through solid objects. What the heck? Do you jump into the fray, or do you wait a bit and watch the glowy kid in the jumpsuit suck his opponent into what looks like... a thermos??

2. There's some kind of ghost hunter family in town. The adults seem kinda crazy tbh, but their two kids might be all right? Unless the teenage boy is setting off your weirdness sensors. Do you have business with the inventors of ghost hunting technology, or do you just want to befriend a kid who's gotta put up with this nonsense? Or do you suspect something's off about him yourself?

3. You've somehow fallen through a weird glowing green portal into some kind of truly wild other dimension. Everything's green and purple and swirly and phantasmal, and the portal you came through is gone. There's plenty of random floating islands and doors, but still. Um, help?

4. Some kid just fell through a weird glowing green portal and possibly onto you, or at least your doorstep. He either looks like your average fourteen year old, or very much does not because last time you checked, "average" doesn't include white hair at fourteen and glowing.

5. Create your own!

[Their routine had been established for a long time, now. Back when they both worked in the Investigations Division, it had simply been convenient - String Gummy Cookie's quarters were closer, and it wasn't as if he had ever bothered moving out of them. He didn't see a point, really. It wasn't like he needed more than the couple of small rooms and minimal furnishings. It was, however, much more neatly kept than Marble Bread Cookie's home or quarters alike, so that's where their nights ended up. Writing reports, sharing takeout for dinner, often not realizing how late it had gotten until they'd both crashed, and then were being woken up by String Gummy's meticulously set alarm for the next day.

It began with Marble on the couch and String on his mattress (he'd never gotten around to getting a proper bedframe, but was it that necessary, really?), but when Marble complained about the aches in his back afterwards, String pointed out that there was enough mattress room for them both. It seemed logical, at the time, and neither of them minded. Which, well, might surprise some other cookies familiar with String Gummy's standoffishness, but in truth? Marble Bread was one of the easiest cookies for him to be around. He was quiet, calm, and accepting, never asking questions and simply straightforwardly doing his job. Which he was excellent at. String Gummy couldn't have asked for a better work partner, even if he'd initially been surprised to see Marble Bread of all cookies in Investigations.

...in another time, that cookie had been head of an entirely different division, and their paths had only occasionally crossed. When this Marble Bread had expressed interest in applying for a division transfer, well... String Gummy had more than one reason for encouraging him to do so. He'd miss having him around, he thought - but then, the first day of Marble's new position, he showed up after work anyway, complaining of being tired as always and that the new position wasn't quite as low key as he'd thought it would be. String hadn't even questioned that they were still doing this - it made sense, and he was pretty sure that most of Marble's clothes had eventually migrated to his dresser anyway. Certainly Marble wasn't simply going to stop crashing at String's and just leave all his things behind.

So, in short, when String Gummy is woken by the grating sound of his alarm and finds he's once again rolled over in his sleep and trapped Marble in a death grip, well, that's just business as usual. it would be embarrassing with any other cookie but...

String's arms finally slacken as he wakes and reminds himself firmly that nobody's in danger. He uncurls himself from around the other cookie, sitting up and smacking the alarm clock in one smooth motion. It never takes much for him to go from asleep to ready for action - perhaps a bit too much of him is on a hair trigger, at times.]

Another morning...

[He's mostly mumbling to himself, reaching up to his head and starting to gather his hair, tying the long gummies back first thing. Eh, Marble will be up when he's up, String will only get the other cookie up forcibly if it looks like they're going to be late.]

[Sooner or later, Forte tells himself, he'll learn not to get involved whenever Wily's on his bullshit again. "Guard this facility, Forte!" "Listen to me gloat about my newest invention, Forte!" "Look at this pretty boy robot that's supposed to be better than you, Forte!" Not only was it bullshit, it never ended well, AND it kept him from going off to find and beat Megaman. In other words, the worst.

(And the problem with not getting involved is that even Forte can't always fight a direct order from his creator, notorious for disobeying as he is. But, well, he's not in the habit of thinking about that.)

This one had been "Stand right there while I activate this, Forte!" and, well, he'd been just prideful enough to figure that whatever the old man was messing with now couldn't possibly be worse than anything he'd suffered before.

Technically, he was right. Technically, getting yanked through spacetime wasn't painful or damaging on its own. Technically, the worst part of it so far was realizing that Gospel was on the other side of the room as said room vanished before him, and having to watch his partner bolt towards him a split second too late, the portal (or whatever it was) snapping shut and his vision becoming engulfed in darkness.

Okay, maybe that was worse than anything else.

Not that Forte had much time to think about it, the void swallowing anything he tried to shout and pulling him... somewhere. It was a little like normal teleporting, if normal teleporting took way too long and felt like being strained through a cheese grater made of static.

And then he was falling. Fast. Too fast to clock much of the scenery abruptly before him, at least not before his back and helmet both crack against something hard and unforgiving. A jolt runs through him, errors flash in his peripheral vision, and his systems immediately shut down to run a diagnostic.

In other words, there's now a momentarily unconscious robot wearing weird chunky armor, lying somewhere he's very much not supposed to be.]

[If you'd told a younger Io where they'd end up now, they never would have believed it. It's one thing to accidentally land a job with the Garlond Ironworks through sheer engineering talent, having never been formally trained, and quite another to end up on the team going to Ishgard of all places, on the heels of political unrest and the Warrior of Light.

They've heard quite a lot about this Warrior, really. Not his name, somehow, and they've never crossed paths - but they've heard he's also a Miqo'te, and also wields a bow, much about his battles with primals, and that whole mess in Ul'dah, and honestly at this point what's truth and what's rumor is lost on them. Cid himself seems to trust this Warrior, and that's plenty enough for Io.

It would be nice to meet the man they keep getting assigned projects for someday, though. That, however, has quite taken a backseat, mostly because despite its hesitance to accept outsiders, Ishgard is one of the most fascinating places Io has ever been.

Okay, perhaps they're a little in love with the Manufactory. They got along with Stephanivien like a house on fire, especially after the Elezen handed them a rifle and taught them how to use it, along with a few unique blueprints here and there. Io's sure they can improve the function of this aetherotransformer, they just need some time with it that isn't spent running around like crazy working on this or that for the Warrior's various escapades.

Maybe now that all this dragon nonsense seems to be winding down, they'll get it.

Right now, however, their current task is, in Biggs's words, to "take a godsdamned break." Something that Io frequently needed to be forced to do, many of their coworkers had quickly found out. Not an uncommon trait among them, though - the Ironworks certainly attracted a particular type of mind. So, here they are, at a table at the Forgotten Knight with a handful of their coworkers, still in their Ironworks uniform because they absolutely plan to go right back to their various projects once they've refueled, so to speak. The ideas buzzing constantly through their head don't stop them from laughing and chatting along, however, long tail swishing behind them in a pleased manner.

They've stopped dyeing their hair, since coming here, since starting to feel more at home in the job that was slowly becoming something of a family as well. The bleached white had begun to fade back into silver, then grey, and finally now their original black is starting to fill in at the roots, stark against their pale skin. They'd worried of being recognized or found by the clan they left behind, once - but that's so long ago and so far away, now. Why not be a little more themselves?]

[The problem with getting accidentally recruited to the Squidbeak Splatoon and also being the reliable, mature, and above all sane one is that then you're the one who gets asked to do all the extra stuff. They don't ask Goggles. They don't ask Hachi. They ask him.

It hadn't even been the Captain or Agents 1 and 2 to ask this time, either. After that mess with the old human AI, Pearl and Marina also had Rider's number, and this had been a specific request from them to Agent 3.5. They couldn't even bother to give him a proper codename, but they ask him to go on special missions? Hmph. And it wasn't like Rider was doing this out of reverence for the idols or anything, either. He'd never really felt one way or another about Off the Hook, save to occasionally appreciate their admittedly vast musical talent. He's grateful they were there to help save the day, he supposes.

No, more than anything, it's that these days when someone wants to rely on him, he finds it really hard to say no. Being trusted, and being able to trust back is... a lot nicer than he used to give it credit for, really. Rider's never been one to shy from danger anyway, but if it means helping someone he knows, it's galvanizing now in a way he never expected.

...That being said, there really should still be a limit to favors, and "go dig around in the remains of this giant creepy facility for us" is probably pushing it.

It had to be dealt with though, didn't it? The statue had been toppled and half submerged by the force of Pearl's killer wail, but the facility within was still mostly intact, and definitely still full of dangerous technology. And, most curiously, what Marina had said to him...

"I think there's someone in there I'd like you to look for, while you're at it."

While he's at it, huh. Rider scowls as he crushes another sanitized octarian under his roller and approaches the large doors before him. The place is still riddled with Tartar's zombielike creations, and he'd predictably had to fight his way through just to get this far. That teal gunk isn't exactly something he ever wanted to deal with again, but at least this time there's no evil telephone to direct it.

The doors slide open to a large room blessedly free of them for once, and Rider shoulders his roller and steps inside. It's clearly a lab of some kind, likely one of the places where the sanitization process was developed and honed. But what he's looking for is the large row of massive computers in the back. He's memorized what Marina told him about how to access the facility maps and sensors...

...but he's not expecting what's already flickering on the screens. Red, glaring messages, but they're in a human language that he can't read. Rider frowns at them, then jabs at the buttons hoping it'll reset it to the main screen he's supposed to be working from. More red. More jabbing. Layers and layers of more red messages just keep popping up...

He's about ready to just smack the console and be done with it when what can only be a yes/no prompt appears. Well, he still can't read it, but it's probably asking if he wants to exit this mess and proceed, right? What's the worst that could happen, more octarians to fight? He hits the first option.

Something whines behind him in a way that makes his ink bubble. Rider whirls around, but only has time to brace his roller in front of him as a device he'd paid absolutely no mind to explodes in blinding light and blasts him halfway across the room. Ugh. Maybe he can at least check off the "destroy things" mission box if not the "find Marina's friend" one. He peels his eyes back open as the light fades... wait, what's that...? A figure?]

Hey! Who's there?

[Not that he expects much of an answer; he's already readying his Dynamo to flick ink at what's probably another abomination.]

Know what time it is? Time for another character specific voicetesting/PSL post! (no it's not time to be done with cookie obsession yet, that time doesn't exist in the foreseeable future.)

Here's some prompts or something:

1. Your character's day is about to be rudely interrupted. First, however - what were they doing? Was it a completely average, boring day in their lives? Was it a completely average, batshit crazy day in their lives? Was something very important or intense going on? Set a scene, see what happens!

2. [For non-canonmates] You've suddenly somehow found yourself in a brightly colored candyland populated by walking, talking cookies. Perhaps you've even become a cookie yourself - or alternately, some kind of candy or cake creature. Maybe you didn't, but your comparatively giant, alien body has earned you the fear of the locals. Crazy, right? Did you just arrive, or have you been making do here for a while? Perhaps, if you are seeking to return home, someone has told you of the incredible powers wielded by Legendary cookies...

3. Oops, you've fallen through a hole in reality somehow. Gosh, how'd that happen? It is a mystery. Anyway, you find yourself in a strange golden abyss, the only ground scattered platforms made of interlocking copper cogs. Gigantic gears, pipes, sewing needles, and other assorted machinery loom in the distance, and though it's brightly lit, you can discern no actual light source. The sound of ticking clocks fills your ears, the rhythms overlapping each other. Do you dare explore, search for a way out? Do you know enough not to stray down the paths where the gold light begins to darken? Is that a waltz you can faintly hear?

4. Something's gone horribly wrong in your life. Horribly, unexpectedly wrong, and you can't shake the feeling that it should never have happened. But it did happen, so can you do anything other than try to keep moving forward? The answer might surprise you, especially when it comes in the form of a talking steampunk cookie appearing out of nowhere and telling you there's been a mistake with your timeline. Don't worry, they're fixing it!

[Bringing the delicious pink wine that Alchemist had so generously left him to Sparkling Cookie was absolutely the best idea Vampire ever had. He'd definitely have to thank her later! Vampire had certainly been drinking his fair share of the stuff, of course - which actually means at least five times as much as anyone else at the bar - and it'd put him into a warm, lighthearted haze that he was quite enjoying.

Also, it had turned a lot of cookies pink, himself included. He bet he looked good like this! Sparkling sure did. Sparkling suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure did. The fact that everyone had been commenting on it had not escaped even a thoroughly sloshed Vampire, and, well, they were right. It was like the bartender's natural charm had been magnified tenfold, and Vampire probably hadn't realized that he'd barely taken his eyes off the cookie for the better part of the last several hours.

Hours. Huh. Time flies, yeah? He was suddenly realizing that it was already past closing time, the last few patrons aside from himself already politely led out the door and Sparkling beginning his cleanup routine.

It wasn't an unfamiliar sight to Vampire. He was here well after close... a lot. Sparkling sure was a great guy for letting him hang out! Especially since Vampire really didn't wanna move much after a night like this. He flopped forward onto the bar counter, lounging as bonelessly as ever and giving Sparkling a big stupid lazy grin.]

Heeeeeeeeeeeeey Sparky! Your pink's fading already, have s'more!

[He says this producing yet another bottle of the stuff from seemingly nowhere and refilling one of the several wine glasses he's surrounded by - and has probably already drunk from himself - waving it in Sparkling's direction like he's trying to make it tempting. It's mostly just kind of wobbly.]

[Jazz may have done this plenty of times before, but she's still just as enthusiastic about her job as part of Team Phantom. She heads off, and sure enough, sends Danny a text once she's convinced her parents that she REALLY wants some bonding time and won't they tell her ALL about the Fenton family history of ghost hunting while they take their time visiting their favorite restaurant on the other side of town tonight??

Danny's got no problem carrying both Ford and Dipper back to Fentonworks and slipping into the lab. The Speeder is parked in its usual spot by the portal, ready to go. He sets the both of them down and turns off the invis/intang.]

Well, there it is. The Speeder's not that hard to drive, it's like a tiny airplane. Or... space shuttle. Or, um...

[Oh boy it's a Doom Slayer thread post! Throw characters at him, do it, do the thing.

Possible scenarios to get you started:

-The Slayer is stuck in your character's world. Easy to set up, since he got teleported off to who knows where at the end of Doom 2016. Guess it was here! He's spontaneously appeared somewhere in your world, and probably isn't very happy about it.

-Hell is invading your world. Look, it's a plane that eats other planes and tries to turn their inhabitants into demons, it's gonna keep trying to do that. Even with this guy constantly wrecking the party. Is a demon slayer a sight for sore eyes, or are you kinda down with the invasion?

-What's this weird stone tomb thing? You or your associates have somehow acquired a strange, rune inscribed stone... container? Coffin? There's a life sign inside if you can detect it, and you may or may not have also found an indestructible (and impossible to activate) power suit similarly embedded in rock. How these got out of Hell and into your hands is anyone's guess, but it's quite the mystery. (This one is pre-Doom 2016, possibly AU.)

-Anything else, show me what you got. Got another idea? Hit me! I'm down for most anything, weird AUs included.]

 Bodyswap Time!
(And some weird related stuff because I said so)

So, how do you feel about winding up in a body that isn't yours? LET'S FIND OUT!

1. Freaky Friday - For whatever reason, you and the person tagging you are suddenly in each other's bodies. Welp.

2. Two Minds Are Better Than One... Maybe - One of you is definitely in the other's body... except the other hasn't exactly vacated the premises. Both your minds are stuck in one of your bodies, probably vying for control, and what even happened to the empty body, anyway?

3. Body Surfing - So one of you has uh, misplaced your body somehow. It's good, you can just jump into others if you want. Of course, they might not be too happy about that but hey, you need a body, don't you?

4. Teleporter Accident - Whether it was caused by an actual teleporter or not, the two of you have kinda ended up with each other's... parts. That's not your arm. Or your leg. Well this is awkward. Especially if you're not even the same species.

5. Wild Card - Anything else thematic you wanna do man, go for it!

 What You Are

What's this meme about? Simple - your character (or the character you're threading with, or both of you why not) isn't what everyone thought they were. Maybe they know and are hiding it, maybe they don't and are about to find out. But they're sure not human - or whatever they originally thought they were - that's for certain!

Step 1: What are you?

A: Robotic - Turns out you're a robot, or part robot, all along. Or maybe even an AI in a simulation.
B: Alien - Did you really think you were from this planet? Surprise!
C: Supernatural - A spirit, a demon, a god, a mythological creature... your bloodline is steeped in magic. Maybe even magic you never believed was real.

Step 2: Who knows?

A: You do. You've known what you are all along, and you've been hiding it. After all, what would the people in your life think if they knew? Or maybe they'd be in danger if they did.
B: Someone else does. This person you're talking to right now knows all about it, but they've been keeping you in the dark about your own body. What's their stake in all of this, anyway?
C: Nobody knows. It's a surprise to everyone!
D: Just found out. You've only just changed, or just discovered something disturbing, and you're trying to hide it, but you really, really need help.

As always, these are just starting points - feel free to wildcard it and do your own thing with the theme!

The Suddenly Human Meme!
Also known as "Io doesn't know how to do fancy formatting, deal with it." Sorry folks.

Look at your nonhuman muses. What are they? Robots? Gods? Mythical creatures? Aliens? Science experiments gone wrong? Animate chalk drawings? Eldritch abominations from beyond?

Well, none of that matters anymore cause they just done got turned human.

How? Why? I don't know! Maybe it's a magical curse, or science happened, or they died and got reborn, or they just plain woke up that way
. You're all creative people! Come up with something cool! Or don't, and let your muses angst about it in the dark, whatever. I know you like to torture them; that's half the fun of memes like this.

So here's how it's going to work:

Nonhuman muses, post top-levels!

You are suddenly very human, and mortal. Have fun with that.

Any muse can tag in!
Maybe you also got turned human, and misery loves company after all. Maybe you didn't, and are just here to point and laugh in their face. Maybe you're someone who always was human and is just getting dragged into this, or helping the former nonhuman cope.

WARNING -- POSSIBLE TRIGGERS (violence, pain, parasites, zombies, etc)

body horror meme

Something's gone wrong. Maybe it was a little parasite, wiggling under your skin. Maybe something bit you that one night in the woods. Maybe someone decided they didn't like you and placed a curse on you, or maybe the local psychotic AI decided she liked you and filled you full of nanites. In any case, you're changing, body and soul. There's no way to stop it. No way to reverse it. And above all, it's the most painful thing you've ever experienced...

HOW IT WORKS:
- Tag the meme, leaving your character name, fandom, and any preferences in the subject line
- Other character tags you
- You tag back, and use the random number generator to select from the following options. Or don't, and do whatever strikes your fancy. If you roll something your character already is, either roll again, go for human, or pick something that otherwise suits your fancy.
- Other character reacts, or is free to also roll on the table
- Play out the results.
- Have fun, but respect the preferences of others.

1. Water-dwelling. You're growing gills, or your skin is turning translucent, or you're sprouting fins, or maybe you're outright turning into some form of sea life. It doesn't matter what you're turning into – what does matter is that you're slowly losing the ability to breathe air, and there's no water in sight...

2. Animal. Something bit you, and you're turning into an animal. Your bones lengthen or perhaps shrink, break, twist, and reform, your teeth lengthen or shorten, and above all, you feel your instincts being overridden. Your senses sharpen; you notice smells you never did before, your vision becomes more sensitive to movement. If you're a predator? Man, these people look mighty tasty. Prey? OHGOD, EVERYTHING IS TERRIFYING. Lizard? Enjoy your new inability to regulate body temperature. Bird? Have fun with the whole beak and hollowing bones. And don't even get us started on insects and arachnids...

3. Parasitic Something's inside you, and it's changing you from within, chewing up your insides and altering your thoughts. You're not sure how much longer you're going to be you, and when the parasite's going to take over completely...

4. Demonic You've been meddling with dark powers beyond the ken of mortal man, and it seems you've accidentally sold your soul. Will you be the traditional kind of demon, horns and hooves, or something far more terrifying and ineffable?

5. Undead: No doubt about it, you're dying, but as you are, something's been altered in you. Maybe you're becoming a vampire – and not the fun kind, either, we're talking ugly, ravenous, and mad. Maybe you're a zombie, or a ghoul, and human flesh looks mighty tasty. Or maybe you're just turning into a ghost bent on vengeance. In any case, death is never fun.

6. Cybernetic Get captured by the Borg? Strapped to an operating table? Injected with nanites? Whatever happened to you, you're slowly turning into something half man, half machine, your squishy bits being replaced by mechanical components.

7. Lovecraftian You've heard their song, the terrors from beyond the stars, and even now they sing in your blood as your flesh transmutes into something ineffable and unknowable. You revel in the pain you feel even as you seek to spread it, to herald the end of all things... or maybe worse, you're aware of the transition as your mind becomes not your own.

8. Fusion/Hivemind You begin to fuse with the first person who tagged you – physically, mentally, or both. Soon, you can't tell who is who, which one of you is the real you, as your thoughts become one. Join in the fleshsong, mortal...

9. Inanimate Your body slowly petrifies and hardens, turning to stone, wood, glass, or something stranger still; or perhaps you liquefy, turning to some kind of liquid, or maybe you dissolve into the air itself.

10. Wildcard / pick your own Pick whatever you like, combine a few options, or make up your own.

[Ichimatsu slouches his way towards the town, but almost instinctively avoids entering it directly - once they reach it, he slips down alleyways and side roads, all the places that are about as dark and eerie as a little seaside town like this gets. They catch a glimpse of townsfolk a few times - perfectly normal people by all appearances - but Ichi avoids being seen by them, shooting Karamatsu glares that say he'd better not engage anyone right now if he values his life.

After investigating a few back alleys and dumpsters, they come across a cat - which takes one look at them and bolts.

Ichimatsu's fists clench, he bites his lip. His expression barely changes, but the tension is palpable.]

[Sans has the right idea, of course - keeping his trademark hoodie for now is definitely a good idea, despite its ill fit. That doesn't stop Gaster from frowning at a ketchup stain as they shrug it back on, though. Honestly, he's going to make sure their laundry gets done whether his brother likes it or not.

He folds the black one up neatly, making sure Papyrus's closet is otherwise as they left it before leaving the room and returning downstairs.]

I am a little tired, honestly. Let's just... wait.

[He sits them on the couch, setting the folded hoodie on the cushion beside them and leaning forward to rest their elbows on their knees. With that, he closes their eyes and lets Sans take the majority of physical control.]

Should we text him, do you think?
